Peripheral perception study
Signal Field
A responsive field that treats attention as material — signals strengthen only at the edge of focus.
Move toward the edges to amplify response. Center dampens signal.
Concept
If intelligence becomes ambient, how do we train peripheral perception without constant notification?
Signal Field is a browser-native study in low-salience feedback. Movement at the center dampens response; movement at the periphery amplifies it.
The experiment asks whether calm interfaces can still convey urgency through spatial composition rather than alarm.
This prototype uses pointer position mapped to opacity and phase offset. It is not a product. It is an instrument for noticing how we notice.
